Taize Prayer Service - Live Stream Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 7 PM Taize is just an elegantly simple service: short song chants, often in Latin, repeated over and over in the candle lite dark of the Church. Then a short Scripture reading, reflection, followed by profound silence as we gaze upon, consider, contemplate, and imitate the crucified Christ on the cross in the tradition of St. Clare of Assisi. Andre House update: 8 great St Mary's volunteers joined yesterday to help prepare a meal for 400+ homeless yesterday at Andre House. We fulfilled our commitment! Name checking our volunteers: Pat, Darryl, Marta, Josilyn (who responded to our urgent Facebook call), Sarah, Roberto, Babs, Robert. This is all about doing good where it is most needed. We are still looking for a few more volunteers to help with the Saint Mary's Basilica's commitment at Andre House downtown, where we help feed 400+ homeless on the third Sunday of the month. On October 18, one spot is available for the 1st shift (1 to 4pm) - this involves food prep, cutting, chopping, etc. Two spots are available in the second shift, 3:30 - 7pm, which involves meal plating, clean up, and - for those who want - helping to serve the food to the guests.
