New, more beautiful sky is cut and it's all ready for solder!
We just finished this install and the clients are very happy!
Lots of details and little pieces in this small arched panel but Genia's design is finally ready for copper foil.
415 pieces, 12 large jewels and 6 small jewels are ready to put together!
Pieces, pieces so many little pieces!
The Fall 2020 issue of Glass Patterns Quarterly presents designs to help you create wonderful autumn, Halloween, Christmas, and holiday themed projects. Includ...ed are stained glass projects featuring a praying angel panel from Pat Chase, a wise owl perched atop a jack-o’-lantern from Leslie Gibbs, a beautiful rainbow mandala dream catcher from David Kennedy, and a landscape with quails in a Southwestern setting from Jennifer Cole and Cindy Dow Savary. If you’re looking for stained glass projects to dress up your home for the holidays, try a design with a bountiful arrangement of pumpkins and gourds by Marry Harris, a beautiful window by Chantal Paré with marine animals in fall colors, a Santa-like holiday sprite by Dion Roberts, a candy can wreath by Terra Parma and Stained Glass Images, and a Halloween witch flying across the night sky by Paned Expressions Studios. For warm glass enthusiasts, there is a lamp cover with an eerie Halloween scene created by Warren Norgaard using precut glass shapes from Milkweed Arts Studio, a fused glass menorah for celebrating Hanukkah by Alysa Phiel, and tips from Bob Leatherbarrow for controlling the amount of slump in glass. A fall landscape by Robin Anderson, a striking three-dimensional church nativity scene with a wooden frame by Angela and Werner Mirring, layered glass holiday gift coasters decorated with stenciled flowers and insect millefiori by Nonnie Lyketsos, and tips for checking your glass kiln’s wiring from Arnold Howard round out this great issue. Virtual Dedication of Cove of Remembrance
"At my age, I thought I would retire in two years. I think it will be more than ten years now." For decades, glass artist Maya Husseini worked to restore Beirut...'s historic stained-glass windows from damage during the civil war. The recent blast in the city undid her work in seconds. But now she is determined to begin her project once again. bbc.in/3aQZP4k
The Navajo Code Talker just GLOWS in the corner and part of his uniform reflects off the heliotrope in the angled panel next to him. What's a heliotrope you ask? A mirrored device once used to send signals via sun reflection. Much is visible from the outside, too and will be even more as they plan on lighting it up at night.
Brought to you with great joy and pride from the Ochoa Stained Glass Crew!
Many hands make light work. Each panel was fabricated on a custom made board. That allowed it to be flipped, stored, carried, transported, and rotated. Yes, rotated. Every panel was stored and transported on it's side, packed with styrofoam for padding and covered in a blanket. So once hauled into the space, each panel had to be carefully rotated, then the panel lifted off the board and put into place. All the upper panels were carefully stepped up on the scaffolding. A few were moved in and out several times as things were tweaked for a proper fit. Then they were secured in place by custom metal stops secured with screws. Many thanks to the Crandell Glass & Aluminum Crew and the Ochoa Stained Glass Crew - you're all AWESOME to work with and pros all the way around!
The Custom Stained Glass Artworks for the Army Signal Corp's Cove of Remembrance in Greely Hall at Ft. Huachuca has been successfully installed. It is beyond breathtaking and they are exceedingly happy as are we. Stay tuned for more photos and videos once my internet connection stops giving me fits!
Our latest installation, a custom glass art entryway, 3 panels that create a sparkling Oasis in this lovely Tucson home at the Lakes at Castle Rock!
