Thank you Scooter and Chris Bennett for hosting the the 10th Annual 4th of July Parade. The proceeds raised helped the Fire District order a life saving tool called the Lucas Chest Compression device which should be delivered in the next 3 weeks. The amount raised was $5058, including a matching donation from an anonymous resident. Thanks to all involved. Respectfully, Chief Rodriquez

"Please see attached information. Every year I try to remind people that the last two weeks in June in Rim Country are when our vegetative fuels are at their driest with fuel moisture content very low. Historically, we usually get 7-10 days of dry lightning that kicks our butt! The latter half of June I call the red zone. Historically, this is also the time when we tend to get our largest wildfires in Rim Country (Dude Fire, Rodeo-Chediski Fire, Willow Fire, Cave Creek Comple...x, just to name a few). Historically, the monsoon signal usually sets up within a few days of the Fourth of July. We know we will get wildfire starts during the monsoon season, however, those monsoon rains go a long way toward helping us to suppress and shut down those wildfire starts while they are still small. Each of us need to step up, double down, and continue to maintain high situational awareness about forest health, fire prevention, and safety and remain vigilant. Be smart. Don’t let wildfires start. Remember, when Americans care and take personal responsibility, great things happen. We genuinely appreciate your ongoing support. Be safe and stay well. Yours for a fire-safe Rim Country, Gary Gary Roberts North Zone Fire Prevention Officer Payson and Pleasant Valley Ranger Districts 870,000 Acres Tonto National Forest USDA Forest Service "
